Ulster Hospital Gilbert Ash - Aseptic Suite, Northern Ireland

Client: South East Trust, Northern Ireland
Size: 150m2

As a new critical care block was not to be constructed at the Ulster Hospital Gilbert Ash for another five years, there was an urgent need to improve existing facilities at the hospital. A new aseptic suite facility was required at the rear of the main hospital, incorporating a reception area, store and toilets. The clinical rooms needed to include an inner support room and an outer support room connected with pass-through hatches, gown rooms and the main aseptic room.

The project required a quick turnaround from design to completion, with minimum disruption to the hospital’s work environment. The new building is 150m2 in size. The construction specification included four steel framed modules located in an L shape on site.

We installed the building within 14 weeks from date of order. The units were transported, offloaded and sited on one day, causing minimum disruption to ongoing hospital operations.
