Lissenhall Ambulance Centre, Swords, Co Dublin
Client: Health Service Executive
Extraspace Solutions Ltd. were appointed as Main Contractor by the Health Service Executive, for the demolition of an existing building and construction of a new 2 storey Modular Building to act as an Ambulance Centre for North County Dublin, in October 2015. The previous facilities for the Ambulance Centre had reached their useable lifespan and the building was no longer fit for their expanding needs, hence the need for a new improved building.
The new construction, completed using Modular Building techniques, provides for a new centre, with male and female changing facilities, training rooms, storage, sluice room and other associated facilities.
Total Gross Internal Floor Area of the building is approx.: 255m2
Works commenced on site in December 2014, with asbestos removal for the two existing buildings that were on site prior to demolition taking place. Foundations were then carried out and the modular building was delivered and installed on site in mid-February 2015. Once installed, internal works for underfloor heating, partitions, screed and fit out commenced. Externally; car parking facilities, drainage and a petrol interceptor were installed. The external finish blends Tegral ‘Tectiva Equitone – Grey’ and Tegral Cedral Sheeting (Pine) to offer a modern look that is sympathetic to its environment.
Handover for the building took place in early May 2015. Prior to handover, full commissioning and demonstration was carried out. An Air Leakage Test was carried out, proving air leakage of no greater than 3 m3/h/m2 in the building.
This building at Lissenhall Swords became the first A Rated Building for the HSE in North Dublin.
