Extraspace are pleased to announce the On time Completion of a New Teaching Facility at Ripon Grammar School in North Yorkshire. The Project was procured through the CCS Framework Agreement with Jacobs acting as Client Representative for North Yorkshire County Council. The New Facility greatly enhances a corner of the Site formerly occupied by a disused Caretakers bungalow and old timber mobile classrooms and it has been transformed into a landscaped site, boasting a State of the art 2 storey Teaching Facility linked to the existing Building.
Extraspace provided a Full Turnkey Solution including full Planning and Building Control Applications, Design and all associated Sub structure and Ground works. The Modular building is Constructed on a lightweight concrete raft Sub structure solution to overcome the problem with gypsum voids in the area. It is nestled perfectly in a wooded area of the site adjacent to Residential housing. The Facility is finished with a combination of brick, render and cedar wood with a pitched tiled roof finish incorporating automatic roof lights.
Internally the Building provides 8 No Classrooms, Offices, Toilets, Accessible toilets, Storage space, Circulation corridors, Escape and Central staircases. The Building is finished to the highest standards, including full M&E fit out, suspended ceilings, taped and decorated walls, carpet and vinyl flooring, IPS, cubicle system and all associated fitted furniture. Externally we have landscaped the area to provide a whole new feel to this section of the School.
Speaking on Completion of the Project, School Headmaster Martin Pearman stated that:
'The Project has been a great success. Delivered on time and to a very high standard. Extraspace were incredibly accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. There were many last minute changes to the detailed construction but all this handled professionally and very willingly. I would be very happy to work with Extraspace again in the future. I am delighted with the end product'
We wish everyone at Ripon Grammar School well in the new facility and are delighted to have been associated with one of the oldest schools in England and we thank Jacobs and North Yorkshire County Council on a successful project partnership.
