Extraspace Solutions are pleased to announce the completion and handover of the new Sports Pavilion to Brighton College.
Extraspace Solutions were contracted to provide a part traditional and part modular sports pavilion in February 2012. The design specification included for the provision of a 424m2 modular building, landscaping, tennis court upgrade and coach drop off area. The use of fully glazed aluminium framed curtain walling to the entrance foyer, around the social area and the side entrance brings an element of transparency to the building. This ties in to the Modular element which consists of 4 No. changing rooms, referee and first aid rooms, and a large social space with a café-bar.
The specification for the Diamond Jubilee Pavilion was to provide a welcoming pre and post match venue, which acts as a hub for College sport and a base for outdoor activities. The one storey building is positioned towards the centre of the New Ground. Additional works included the provision of parking, new fencing and entrance gates, and landscaping works around the perimeter. Floodlighting was installed for the netball and tennis courts.
Extraspace Solutions were delighted to work with Brighton College, David Morley Architects, Quantum and the rest of the design team on this project and believe the new modular Diamond Jubilee Sports Pavilion will positively contribute to the long term use of the sports grounds.
The new building was officially opened by Prince Edward & Sophie, known as Earl and Countess of Wessex on 04th July 2012 in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
