Extraspace Solutions project nominated for Health Design Award 2013

Extraspace Solutions are delighted to announce the nomination of a design award for their Consultant & Radiotherapy Facility at Basingstoke Hospital. The building which was designed by Paul Murphy Architects on behalf of Extraspace Solutions was handed over to Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust in December 2013.

This bespoke, fast track construction project is unique in its approach to future services for HHFT. The project involved the construction of a new, single storey steel-framed modular building on the site of the former Donald Burrell Centre within the Hospital. The new building comprises of two main elements. Front of house offers a Private Patients Facility which includes 12 Consultant Suites, 6 secretarial rooms, staff rooms, offices and bespoke main entrance and modern reception area. The second part of the building is a dedicated Radiotherapy building which contains CT Room, X-ray room, MRI room and a Linac Bunker. In addition to this, each element of the building has its own dedicated ancillary rooms to accompany the treatment areas.

Extraspace Solutions were appointed as the main contractor under a full Design & Build contract. The building has a structural design life in excess of 60 years and is fully compliant with all current building regulations, HTM/HBN codes of practice.
