The successful installation of 49 No modules took place recently on our project at Edinburgh University. After the completion of sub structures we now have in place 49 modules making up a four storey building which by the end of January 2015 will be handed over to the client and put to use providing a café/social study area, study centres for biology and engineering students, administration facilities and common rooms.
The operation was coordinated in great detail to include road closure signs and notifications around the University campus as the site is very restricted in terms of access and available ground space and parking. Loads were logistically coordinated to arrive on site at frequent intervals, backed into site and lifted into position using a 150T crane. The complete facility was installed on 4 lifting days ensuring minimum disruption for the University. The steel frame structures enables us to lift and place up to 15 modules per day reducing the lifting days required on site.
All internal partitions are already in place and the fit out will now continue on site under the guidance of our on Project Management Team. Please look out for further updates as we near completion!
